Going Above and Beyond for my Clients

How many mortgage advisors do you know who would help lift the heavy boxes on completion day?

I had some holiday to use up and one of my client’s completion dates was coming up so I booked 2 days out of the office and moved countless heavy boxes into a 7.5-ton lorry and into the house on the other end.

It was cold, but there was a portable kettle to get the teas and coffees made and once we all took a deep sigh at the whole storage unit before us and started shifting boxes into the van, we naturally started to warm up a bit.

It was a tense completion that didn’t go through until after 4 pm on Friday, due to complications on the solicitor’s end, but once it finally went through, there were cheers all around.

Admittedly, the client in question was my brother and sister-in-law, along with their 1-month-old baby. Still, I would happily do this for any client if they needed it - it’s happened before when I was an estate agent and one of my clients needed a hand as only one of them was able to get time off work on completion day.

Part of my job as a mortgage & protection advisor is not just to do the mortgage and wish you good luck, but to continue to service that mortgage for the entire term, be it 5 years, 25 years, or 40 years, so if I need to go the extra mile to solidify that working relationship, then you can bet I will be making that effort as every good mortgage advisor should.
