At RBM solutions, being a small independent business means my role can afford to be a bit fluid. If I had chosen to work at a large corporate mortgage broker, or within an estate agent, my role would be very different – I would only be a mortgage broker and any time a client wanted me to sell their home, I would have to pass it over to a colleague to deal with.
Here, we view things differently. I have over 7 years of estate agency experience, so it would be a shame to let all that go to waste. Additionally, if someone trusts me with their finances, then they’re more than likely going to trust me with the sale of their property.
Rather than pass the buck to a colleague to do valuations, viewings and negotiations, I can use my previous experience to do all of the above, as well as mortgages & insurance and position myself as a “One True Solution” to moving home.
Moving is stressful. Speak to most estate agents and they will tell you that after death and divorce, moving home usually follows in the list of ‘most stressful experiences in life’. I aim to relieve some of that stress by being a one stop shop and providing a service that no other local estate agents offer. If you need to know what’s happening with your mortgage, ring me. I have heard horror stories before where there’s a bit of a ‘blame game’ going on – the estate agent will tell you it’s the solicitor’s fault, the solicitor will blame the mortgage advisor and the mortgage advisor won’t return your calls.
